I have announced my candidacy for the office of Nolan County Judge.
The County Judge is the presiding officer over the Commissioner's Court of Nolan County, presides over all probate matters, and oversees the management of county affairs. The County Judge also has jurisdiction in other legal matters and has numerous other duties.
I believe I have the commitment, experience and vision necessary to be the next County Judge.
I was born and raised in Nolan County, Texas, and this is where I have chosen to raise my family. I am committed to making sure that the future of Nolan County is brighter than her past. I want Nolan County to be recognized as a leader in business and industry, education, and faith-based organizations. I realize elected officials seldom keep all of their campaign promises, so I am making only three I know I can keep: (1) I will work hard, (2) I will keep an open mind, and (3) I will always have an open door. I want to bring my experience as a lawyer and small business owner to the office of the Nolan County Judge. I have practiced law for almost ten years, I have taught business law and public speaking at the college level, and I publish a highly-ranked Biblical studies blog. I believe I have the well-rounded experience necessary to serve the citizens of Nolan County.
As Nolan County Judge, I will be committed to:
Open Government - I will do my best to ensure that Nolan County government will be open and accessible to the public. I want the citizens of Nolan County to have a voice in their local government, and I will keep the public as informed on the issues facing them as possible.
Economic Development - I want county government to be proactive in promoting economic development in and around Nolan County. I will do all that I am able to partner with the cities and other entities in Nolan County to make our county as business-friendly as possible.
A 21st Century Nolan County - My vision for a 21st Century Nolan County is a county government that is ahead of the curve, and not behind, when it comes to:
